Residential Club System

Families who want to care for their own child with autism need a live-in support system where other qualified and understanding adults are available when needed; this includes fellow club moms/members who share the same life assignment, who can support one another in conjunction with AFS-trained professional support staff.

Our goals are to provide adequate single family homes to groups of single moms with autistic children (AFS function level 01 & 02),  with 24-hour support, and to provide duplex, triplex, and quadraplex facilities for double parent homes, also with 24-hour support.

Applicant Qualifications:

1 - Single moms, and autistic child(ren) with AFS Function Levels 01 & 02.  (Note: we are unable to provide appropriate support for high functioning autistic children or adults); and one sibling up to age 18 (exception for full-time students). Note: single-mom families with male sibling will reside in one facility; single-mom families with female siblings, or no siblings will reside in another.   

2  Families will pay rent on a sliding scale according to income. 

3 - Structured group-living system will involve compliance of House Rules & Policies as set forth by AFS, which will provide for professional yet family-style environment with structured daily activities, and will serve the individual needs of each club family.  (Sample Rules & Policies available soon ).

4 - Background checks required of each potential residential club member as well as staff members. Clean records are required.

5 - Video surveillence will be provided in all common areas, and areas where staff are stationed.

6 -Two-week compatibility trial period required of each approved potential AFS Club  family, prior to move-in.
